One day Holden is 13 years old, the next day he’s 25. After spending 12 years in a coma, Holden wakes up to a world he doesn’t recognize. The miracle of his awakening is overshadowed by new supernatural powers he’s somehow required.
Holden starts to realize something’s not quite right. “You’re in danger. Trust no one,” a girl named Willa tells him in the trailer. Holden is in danger. A lot of danger. A shady man in yellow tells him, “I know who you are. More importantly, I know what you can do.”
Holden is forced to use his powers against his will to save his best friend. Holden, slowly but surely, begins to discover the answers he’s seeking. Willa reveals that Holden’s “mind traveled” while he was asleep, and now his “memories are trying to force their way out.”
Freeform is making big moves with Beyond. All 10 episodes of Beyond will be available via digital platforms like the Freeform App, Freeform.com, On Demand Hulu with the show’s two-hour premiere on Jan. 2, 2017.
“The premiere of Beyond marks an important milestone in the history of Freeform, nearly a year since our rebrand,” said Freeform president Tom Ascheim in a statement. “One of the promises we made to our audience at the time was to create content they love and to make that content easily accessible. Beyond helps us live up to both promises. In the same way we modernized our brand, we are modernizing how we bring our shows to our audience. Beyond is our first, and definitely not our last, ‘binge-from-the-start’ show.”
Beyond stars Burkely Duffield, as Holden Matthews, Romy Rosemont as Diane Matthews, Michael McGrady as Tom Matthews, Jonathan Whitesell as Luke Matthews, Dilan Gwyn as Willa and Jeff Pierre as Jeff McArdle.
