A Han Solo spin-off is officially in the works! Zoe Kravitz, Tessa Thompson and Naomi Scott are reportedly vying for the lead female role, meaning it will be a feature of epic proportions! We’ve got the details about the front-runners right here!
May the force be with you! Selma star Tessa Thompson, Divergent film series actress Zoe Kravitz and Power Rangers Naomi Scott have already showed off their acting chops to earn themselves the female lead in Lucasfilm’s Han Solo-based Star Wars spin-off. The actresses have reportedly been brought in for meetings, readings and questions regarding the action-thriller flick this week, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This is all a part of the process to determine who will best suit the role for the untitled project! We can hardly wait to find out the verdict.
Now, it appears to be a waiting game for the starlets. This reportedly marks the second round of testing for all three ladies, following a first round earlier this summer. Reports say it could still be “a couple weeks” before the filmmakers confirm their top choice. My, oh my. Meanwhile, the casting directors are also actively searching for the heartthrob who will take on the part of Lando Calrissian, the sophisticated gambler. So who are they now eye-balling to play the witty stud? Atlanta actor and rapper Donald Glover is allegedly ranked pretty high, so there could be hope! We certainly wouldn’t mind that choice one bit.
The Han Solo flick is scheduled to begin production in 2017 and it looks like they’re taking all the steps to making it a reality! There’s certainly a lot of hype surrounding the film, considering the major box-office success that Star Wars: Force Awakens enjoyed. On top of that, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is also scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 16, 2016, which could help boost the interest. We couldn’t be more excited about what to expect now with the spin-off, considering there’s quite a superstar roster! So, who do you think nabbed the part?!
