We were on pins and needles waiting to hear what Chelsea Clinton was going to say when she showed up on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers.’ Why? Well because we knew she’d definitely be talking about her mom, Hillary Clinton, after her serious showdown with Donald Trump during the first presidential debate on Sept. 26. And, boy, did Chelsea have some great remarks!
Chelsea Clinton, 36, was ready to talk all about mommy when she sat down with Seth Meyers on Oct. 5, and we couldn’t have been more excited to hear what she had to say. With Chelsea being Hillary Clinton‘s biggest fan, we knew we could really expect some great commentary on how she thinks the 68-year-old Democratic presidential nominee is fairing in her campaign against Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump, 70. And obviously, she totally had her mom’s back.
“Do you fear that if this is how we’re behaving now, that 20 years from now it’s just going to be like a steal cage match?” Seth asked Chelsea, remarking on how heated the election has gotten. “I hope not. I hope that after this election we repudiate. You know, I’m very biased towards my mom, I’m deeply proud to be her daughter,” Chelsea said. “Thank you for admitting it, though,” Seth said jokingly to a round of applause from the studio audience. “I own it every day. I hope that my children are even just an iota as proud of me as I am of my mom. And I do hope that we send a strong as a signal as a country on Nov. 8. I think were still just gonna have a lot of work to do Nov. 9 and there after to ensure that we’re role modeling for our kids and what civic dialogue and political debate should be in our country.”
After Chelsea was done gushing about her mom, Seth asked her what her favorite part of living in the White House was, and what she’d be most excited to shared with her children, Charlotte, 2, and three-month-old, Aidan, if their grandma does move back into the famous home. Her answer? Playing hide-and-seek! Chelsea said one of her favorite memories of living in the White House was her 13th birthday party when she got to invite all her friends over to play the game. “Definitely some people got lost in the secret staircases. So there was that awkward element of fear and excitement when you’re thirteen and trying to pretend you’re really cool and not afraid but your totally terrified,” Chelsea said. “This seems like the secret services worst day,” Seth joked. “‘Just so you guys know there’s gonna be 30 thirteen-year-olds. They’re hidden all over the place. Try not to be too skittish!”
We totally admired how Chelsea has been there supporting her mom throughout her entire campaign. We think she’s just the best daughter and that Hillary is so lucky to have her right there to back her up. We know that this race to the White House has been one of the most insane elections to watch so far and admire how Chelsea has handled her role in the whole ordeal. With her luck, she just might get to play hide-and-seek in the White House again!
