This is actually the LARGEST mandatory evacuation in the United States since Hurricane Sandy in 2012. My, oh my. Gusts of wind are expected to pick up to 165 miles per hour when the storm hits Florida. Authorities have been urging those who live near the coast to leave as soon as possible in order to ensure their safety. President Barack Obama, 55, even declared it was a state of emergency for Floridians on Oct. 6. CLICK HERE TO SEE IF YOUR COUNTY IS UNDER EITHER VOLUNTARY OR MANDATORY EVACUATION.
The POTUS has already ordered federal aid from the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency in response. Even Disney World has shut its doors to the public, closing for the fourth time in history due to Hurricane Matthew. In addition, the Fort Lauderdale Airport has been shut down and the Orlando Airport is also expected to do the same, with hundreds of flights delayed. Stay safe, HollywoodLifers!
HollywoodLifers, keep all those affected by the tropical storm in your thoughts.
