Arizona finally returns on the Oct. 6 episode of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ for the first time in season 13. In a brand-new interview, Jessica Capshaw previews what’s coming up for Arizona, what she thinks of Alex’s predicament and more!
Arizona is finally back at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital after two episodes away. When she returns, it’s without Callie (Sara Ramirez), who left the show at the end of the last season.
But she’s walking into a world of drama at the hospital. Her close friend Alex (Justin Chambers) beat up DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) in a rage and got demoted. Arizona is not happy about what has gone down in her absence.
“When she sees just how bad it is, it really fires her up,” she told our sister site TVLine. “And it worries her. Because anyone who can do something like that needs some help. Needs some assistance.”
In a sneak peek of the Oct. 6 episode, Arizona confronts Alex about beating up DeLuca. She’s pissed at him for not answering her calls and texts. She’s also angry that he could have ruined his career, one that she helped him build. She pushes him a little too far and he tells her to “back off!” Come on, Alex, you need Arizona! Don’t push her away!
Arizona is going to be on a whole new journey this season, one that is going to include a new love interest. Jessica feels that Arizona has “certainly waited long enough” for a new romance and reveals that her love interest is going to be someone new! Well, if she doesn’t end up with Callie, then she deserves someone truly great! Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
