Looks like Taylor Swift is headed for the Super Bowl! The ‘Shake It Off’ singer just signed a huge deal with AT&T, which includes headlining the pre-game concert the night before the big game. Get the details right here!
“Taylor will headline the 7th Annual DIRECTV Super Saturday Night on February 4th in Houston,” AT&T announced in a statement on Oct. 4. “Exclusive content and portions of the concert will be made available for U-verse and DIRECTV customers at a later date.”
Taylor‘s exclusive AT&T deal will include more performances on future dates, but it seems the Super Saturday Night show is the beginning of her multi-year contract with the telecommunications company. More details of what’s to come with the deal is set to be revealed in the near future. If the Super Bowl pre-game concert is the first Taylor and AT&T team-up event, that’s a pretty huge way to kick off such a major partnership, huh?
As if having Taylor, 26, take the stage isn’t cool enough, AT&T said they will build a custom, 64,000 square foot venue for the performance in Houston like they have in the past. Considering the stages we’ve seen Taylor perform on before, we’re sure this is going to be one insane setup — especially because it’s her first time performing at a Super Bowl event!
Taylor was actually one of the artists rumored to be part of the Halftime Show during the Super Bowl LI game, but just days before AT&T’s announcement it was reported that Lady Gaga had been confirmed for the prestigious gig. But with this big news about Super Saturday Night, at least fans can rest assured that they’ll be seeing Taylor perform during Super Bowl weekend in some capacity!
