What a mess! Odell Beckham Jr. let his poor play get the better of him against the Minnesota Vikings Oct. 3 when he got into a scuffle with an NFL referee! Keep reading for what happened to him after his MAJOR on-field meltdown.
Things haven’t exactly been going Odell Beckham‘s way this season with the New York Giants and he was having the worst night of his career as he went up against the NFC North leading Minnesota Vikings on their home turf. He totally blew his cool when his QB Eli Manning, 35, overthrew a pass to him which was picked off by Vikes cornerback Xavier Rhodes, 26, who returned the interception to the midfield.
Well, his frustration was obvious but his actions were inexcusable as #13 was clearly seen yelling at the referee and then he did the unthinkable — he butted his body into the guy’s left shoulder Odell, you know that you CANNOT TOUCH REFS LIKE THAT!!! It was just beyond stupid on his part and landed him an unsportsmanlike conduct foul, which put him one penalty away from being ejected from the game. Luckily for the 23-year-old, he managed to keep it together and not screw up again. But his presence on the field for the rest of the game didn’t make a difference as the Vikes steamrolled the Giants 24-10 in the end.
Odell literally had the worst night of his career, with a grand total of 23 receiving yards, topping his worst game ever back in 2014 week six with 28. He only managed to catch three out of the nine passes Eli launched his way and he’s yet to score a touchdown four games into the NFL season. The poor guy really needs to turn this around FAST!
The game started off so nicely for Odell, as after the National Anthem was played, members of the armed forces who had been on the field in honor of it lines up to exit and he personally shook each of their hands. That was such a classy thing to do, it’s just to bad he marred it with his on-field antics later in the game. That competitive spirit clearly got the best of him.
HollywoodLifers, should Odell have been thrown out of the game for butting a ref? Or did he catch a lucky break just getting a foul?
