Everyone’s got their own opinion about Kim Kardashian’s horrifying Paris attack and robbery, which left her stripped of millions of dollars in jewelry, and now Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld — a close friend of the family — has weighed in on the incident. You might be shocked to learn that he has zero sympathy for the reality star’s plight. Here’s why!
Kim Kardashian, 35, can’t seem to catch a break. Karl Lagerfeld, 83, gave his two cents on the gunpoint robbery outside of his Chanel show during Paris Fashion Week on Oct. 4, telling reporters that Kim brought the matter upon herself, via Daily Mail. “You cannot display your wealth and then be surprised that some people want to share it with you,” he said of Kim’s tendency to show off her bling on social media. Sounds like he blames her!
“If you’re that famous and you put all your jewelry on the net, you go to hotels where nobody can come near to the room,” Karl added. Well, Kim was staying in a super-secretive hotel that was so private, you can only book it word-of-mouth and need a password to even view the website, but it didn’t matter in the end. “I think it’s a very bad thing for Paris but I don’t understand why she was in a hotel with no security,” Karl said.
In contrast to these comments, Karl sent Kim a note shortly after the horrifying events occurred. “Dearest Kim, we are all with you, Love Karl,” he handwrote on a white piece of paper. Guess the designer sees it both ways.
As we previously told you, the robbers made off with one of Kim’s precious 20-carat rings, which is worth a reported $4.5 million. Just awful.
HollywoodLifers, do you agree with Karl that Kim shouldn’t flaunt her wealth on social media so much? Tell us what you think!
