It’s Music Monday, when we round up five new songs that you’re going to love, based on artists you already know. This week, we’re listening to singles from Glass Animals, Torres, Grouplove, Savoir Adore and The Naked and Famous. Check it out!
No one likes Mondays, but your day might brighten up after you give these songs a listen. Enjoy!
1. “Life Itself” — Glass Animals
For fans of: Phantogram, Tame Impala, Young the Giant
Why you’ll like it: It’s sleepy at first, but the bongo drumline makes it an effortless jam. It’s impossible not to bang your head when the chorus drops. Also, it’s got instant-classic lyrics such as, “Thought that I was northern Camden’s own Flash Gordon/Sonic raygun, gonna be a superstar.”
2. “Sprinter” — Torres
For fans of: London Grammar, Lana Del Rey, Birdy
Why you’ll like it: Mackenzie Scott‘s soaring vocals pair nicely with an arena-rock guitar riff. She’s on tour with Tegan and Sara this fall, so don’t miss her.
3. “Welcome To Your Life” — Grouplove
For fans of: Foster the People, fun., Matt & Kim
Why you’ll like it: It’s a change from the usual shout-y Grouplove chorus, and it’s actually a pleasantly optimistic love song. The band is back in business!
4. “Savages” — Savoir Adore
For fans of: St. Lucia, Empire of the Sun, Capital Cities
Why you’ll like it: The swelling chorus is an electro-pop, indie-rock masterpiece. I’ve got to credit Spotify for this excellent find.
5. “Runners” — The Naked and Famous
For fans of: M83, Passion Pit, CHVRCHES, MGMT
Why you’ll like it: So. Many. Feels. TNAF is absolutely killing it with all the singles they’ve released from their upcoming album, and I can’t wait for the whole thing.
