LeBron, 31, made it perfectly clear that when it comes to fighting for a better future for the poor children in both his hometown of Akron, Ohio and in the rest of America, Donald Trump, 70, isn’t fit for the job.
“When I look at this year’s presidential race, its clear which candidates believes in the same thing,” LeBron said in the op-ed he wrote for Business Insider. “Only one person running truly understands the struggles of an Akron child born into poverty. And when I think about the kinds of policies and ideas the kids in my foundation need from our government, the choice is clear. That candidate is Hillary Clinton.”
LeBron explained that he had two goals when he came back to Cleveland: to win the NBA title for the Cleveland Cavaliers and to “make sure my kids in Akron have what they need to become their best selves.” After creating the LeBron James Family Foundation, LeBron worked to help kids “stay in school and reach their dreams through education.” So, when it comes down to making his choice on Nov. 8, LeBron’s picking Hillary, 68.
“Like my foundation, Hillary has always been a champion for children and their futures. For over 40 years, she’s been working to improve public schools, expand access to health care, support children’s hospitals, and so much more.”
The 3-time NBA champion also wrote how Hillary has pledged to ensure that “kids have access to good education, no matter what zip code they live in.” He also aid that despite Donald boasting he’s the “law and order” candidate, he thinks Hillary’s the better candidate to help reduce violence within the African-American community.
“We need a president who brings us together and keeps us unified,” LeBron wrote. “Policies and ideas that divide us more are not the solution. We must all stand together — no matter where we are from or the color of our skin. And Hillary is running on the message of hope and unity that we need.”
Hillary just keeps picking up the major endorsements. Along with King James, USA Today backed Hillary, making a presidential pick for the first time in its 34 years of existence. Donald, according to the paper, is “unfit for the presidency,” and they had to break their policy of not taking a side because of how bad they think a Trump presidency would be for the world! Wow. With both LeBron and USA Today backing her (along with so many others) can Hillary dunk all over Donald on Election Day?
