‘Sabrina The Teenage Witch’ Turns 20: Melissa Joan Hart Reveals Whether A Reboot Is Coming
Happy anniversary, ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch!’ The beloved TV show turns 20 today, Sept. 27, and now we’re all wondering if a reboot is ever going to happen. Well, Melissa Joan Hart is speaking out about those reboot rumors, her favorite ‘Sabrina’ episode and more!
“There’s a lot of talk about a Sabrina reboot,” Melissa said. “I feel like almost every day, somebody’s calling me about it. Would we do it? Should we do it? How do we do it? I think the thing about reboots is they’re really hard to do. They’re hard to do right. I think sometimes it’s better to just leave it in the past unless you do it really, really great.”

The show premiered on Sept. 27, 1996. Melissa, now 40, starred as Sabrina, the charming young witch who has to juggle life as a teenager with magical powers. We fell in love with Sabrina, Salem the cat, and her hilarious aunts, Hilda and Zelda. When asked who she thought Sabrina’s favorite aunt was, Melissa just couldn’t choose between them.
“Both the ladies would attack me if I picked one or the other,” she said. “I have love for both of them. We, all three ladies, have strong personalities, and there are times we’d all get along, and times when we all were fighting, but we have a close relationship now.”
The series ran for 7 seasons, totaling 163 episodes. Over the course of the show’s run, guest stars like Britney Spears, 34, *NSYNC, Dick Van Dyke, 90, Backstreet Boys and more showed up. But when it comes to favorite episodes, Melissa picked the pancake episode as the one nearest and dearest to her heart. She loved it the most “because I was digging through trash cans and got to be really physical and that was fun.”
