The war is on! Brad Pitt will not let Angelina Jolie get her way when it comes to their impending divorce. He plans to fight for joint custody of their children, and HollywoodLife.com has the EXCLUSIVE details on how he’d gladly sacrifice anything else but his kids.
Brad, 52, has lawyered up and he’s ready to fight Angelina, 41, for joint physical custody of their six children, according to TMZ. Angie has requested she gets sole physical custody of their family, with Brad getting only visitation rights. Brad won’t give his soon-to-be-ex-wife what she wants without a fight, and he’s preparing for a legal showdown in the courtroom.
“Family is everything to Brad,” a source close to the Fight Club actor EXCLUSIVELY tells HollyowodLife.com about Brad’s looming custody battle. Brad hails from a “traditional midwestern family.” Despite being a Hollywood hunk, he retains some of these values. Since Brad’s been brought up to value his kids ahead of his career, losing them would be absolutely devastating.
“Being a good dad is what he prides himself on more than anything in the world,” the source tells HollywoodLife.com. “More than all the fame and fortune he could ever achieve.”
Though, Brad’s odds of winning joint custody are up in the air. Judges favor granting joint custody to parents unless there’s evidence that one of them is some kind of risk to the kids, according to TMZ. Unfortunately, Brad has come under fire, as he’s been accused of child abuse!
Brad was allegedly verbally and physically abusive towards his children on a private flight on Sept. 14. During a heated argument with Angelina, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 15, reportedly jumped in to defend his mother. Brad then allegedly “lunged” at Maddox, before Angie reportedly separated him.
Because the alleged incident happened while the plane was in motion, the FBI has reportedly been called in to investigate since it’s beyond the LAPD’s jurisdiction. If the investigation finds out that Brad did lunge at his adoptive son, this custody war may be over before it even begins.
What do you think about Brad willing to fight for joint physical custody of his kids, HollywoodLifers? Do you think it’s the right thing for him to do?
