As we previously reported, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 15, tried to verbally defend his mom, Angelina Jolie, 41, during a fight she was having with dad, Brad Pitt, 52, on a private plane last week. That’s when Brad allegedly lunged at his son, and “connected with” him “in some fashion,” according to TMZ. However, according to sources close to the 52-year-old, he most definitely did not “hit” the teenager.

“[Brad] was drunk and there was an argument between him and Angelina,” the Brad insider tells People. “There was a parent-child argument which was not handled in the right away and escalated more than it should have. [Brad] is emphatic that it did not reach the level of physical abuse, that no one was physically harmed. He did not hit his child in the face in any way. He did not do that; he is emphatic about that. He put his hands on him, yes, because the confrontation was spiraling out of control.”

Still, Brad has now been accused of child abuse, which the source says is a “combination of exaggeration and lies,” adding that a fight simply “got out of hand and reached a regrettable peak.”

The FBI confirmed that it is investigating the situation, and Brad and Angelina were both questioned by police when their plane landed. She filed for divorce one day after this shocking incident, asking for full physical custody of the six kids.
