Make like a leaf and change! If you find yourself sick of your hairstyle now that summer’s over, don’t worry — we’ve got amazing expert tips on how to transition your cut and color into the perfect fall look.
Bye, summer hair. It’s finally autumn — the ideal time to switch it up. HollywoodLife.com consulted experts at the Licari Cutler salon in New York City, NY to help us out!
Colorist Lilybeth Vargas says that when choosing a new color, blondes want to introduce deep, warm and rich tones. “Leave behind that bleached-out summer look by adding multidimensional hues,” Lily suggests. “Skin tonality shifts from season to season, and so should hair color. Blondes always fear going darker, but by combing a warmer, champagne golden tone to pale, faded blonde to subtly but gracefully illuminate the texture of your hair,” she explains. So pretty!
For brunettes, Lily says there is a wide spectrum of shades to consider. You should have fun with it! “Try a cinnamon swirl, a blush ginger, a dusty rose or a buttery scotch. It’s the perfect time to be playful and experiment with autumn shades. Chestnut brown melting into auburn accents can give that dark, dimensional look with a pop most brunettes crave.” Beautiful! When you leave the salon, protect your new, gorgeous color with Color Wow Color Security Shampoo.
Stylist Breno Miranda also has great advice for bringing frizzed-out summer hair back to life. “We love a messy, beach-y style in the summer, but as you transition your color, you want your cut to match. You can keep that ‘lived in’ look, but ask your stylist for a more refined finish. You don’t want to look messy!” If you need a little extra repair, you’ve got to try Viviscal Extra Strength supplements. Oh, and pumpkin spice aficionados will love WEN Fall Vanilla White Pumpkin Nourishing Mousse for the final touch!
