‘American Horror Story: Roanoke’ is quickly connecting to all past seasons of the show. Ryan Murphy revealed in a new interview how ‘Roanoke’ will connect to ‘Freak Show’ — and it has to deal with Finn Wittrock’s Dandy Mott.

“I will tease that we see the return of Mott family,” Ryan told Entertainment Weekly. “Dandy Mott is a favorite of mine from season 4. We sort of see distant relatives.”

He revealed that fans will see the origin of the Motts, which he says is “funny.” But the Motts won’t be the only throwback you’ll see this season. Ryan noted that this is the year that we’ll see the “greatest hits, in terms of actors of American Horror Story.” More characters that we “have not seen in years that you have wanted to see” will pop back up this season.

Ryan has said before that all the seasons of American Horror Story are connected. Roanoke has already connected itself to Murder House. Piggy Man has appeared in season 6. Roanoke definitely has a Murder House vibe to it, with evil spirits inside a haunted house. In season 1, Billie Dean Howard (Sarah Paulson) mentioned Roanoke while talking to Constance (Jessica Lange) and Violet (Taissa Farmiga) about getting rid of the ghosts in Murder House.

She tells them of the first successful exorcism in 1590 that took place in the Roanoke. Billie says that the colonists died and the place is haunted by the local Native Americans.

Now that we know Murder House and Freak Show are connected to Roanoke, we can’t wait to learn how Asylum and Coven connect. American Horror Story: Roanoke airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
