Spoiler alert! Alex made the huge decision to turn himself in after beating up DeLuca on the Sept. 22 episode of ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ In a new interview, Justin Chambers reveals if Alex is feeling guilty, what’s next and more!
After trying to cover up and hide what he did for the entire season 13 premiere, Alex went to the police at the end of the episode and was arrested. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Justin dishes on the status of Alex’s guilt over beating up DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti).
“Right now, he’s just trying to pick up the pieces and try to glue it back together,” he tells the outlet. Justin notes that Alex has a “lot of rage,” and DeLuca was “just an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire.”
In the next episode, Alex is facing the consequences of what he’s done. Alex heads to court, and the situation tears the doctors apart. Choosing a side is a never easy, especially since these doctors are all so close. Justin also reveals what’s next for Alex. Is his career as a doctor over?
“I don’t know how that affects his medical license,” he says. “I don’t know, but he’s… got to find redemption.”
So where does this put Meredith (Ellen Pompeo)? She ultimately told Bailey (Chandra Wilson) about what Alex had done, but there’s no doubt about it — her bond with Alex is strong, and Bailey knows that. “There’s no need to go down with him,” Bailey tells Meredith in the next episode.
Because Meredith is Meredith, it looks like she tries to mend things with DeLuca for Alex before Alex’s career is ruined. “You think because you’re an attending you can threaten me?” DeLuca says to Meredith in the promo. Meredith has found herself in the middle of the drama once again. Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
