Big news! Ryan Murphy has cast an oldie but a goodie on ‘American Crime Story: Katrina.’ The new cast member was on the first season of the anthology series, ‘People Vs. OJ,’ and we’re sure he’s excited to have them joining him once more, as they seem to be a real favorite of his. Check out who is lucky enough to be coming back with Ryan, after the jump!
Ryan Murphy, 50, confirmed that Emmy award-winning actress Sarah Paulson, 41, will be along for the ride on American Crime Story: Katrina. This will be the FOURTH anthology series that Ryan currently has in the works, and the third one that Sarah is hopping on board for! Of course, Ryan has to be doing something right for Sarah to be following him from show to show. Not that she herself isn’t gaining something out of the deal, as she went home with her first shiny Emmy award on Sept. 18, which she won for lead actress in a limited series for her role in The People Vs. O.J. Simpson, the first season of American Crime Story.
But even though Ryan has announced Sarah’s inclusion in Katrina, he’s also made it clear it’s gonna be a little while until they get around to filming. “We’re trying to get it right,” Ryan told The Hollywood Reporter. “We’re not going to shoot it until we get it right and we had that liberty with O.J. We had more than half of the scripts done and pretty much locked before we started shooting. We’re in no rush; we just want it to be good and to get it right, and nobody is pressuring us.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Katrina will “follow a group of six to eight people in an attempt to examine all sides of the (Hurricane Katrina) tragedy.” Filming was originally expected to begin in New Orleans this fall, but based on what Ryan is saying now, it doesn’t look like that will be happening any time soon!
