King Ezekiel: 5 Things To Know About ‘The Walking Dead’s New Character

‘The Walking Dead’ may be good at keeping secrets, but we know one thing for sure: King Ezekiel is arriving in season seven. Click inside to learn everything you need to know about the show’s new leader!

1.) King Ezekiel Is The Leader Of The Kingdom

Although we didn’t see if in season six, it’s safe to assume that Carol (Melissa McBride) and Morgan (Lennie James) were taken to The Kingdom after being attacked while on the run. Ezekiel is the leader of The Kingdom, which in the comics is an old school building that has been turned into a refugee spot.

2.) Ezekiel Has A Pet Tiger — Yes, Really

No, you’re eyes were not deceiving you. A tiger really does appear in the trailer for The Walking Dead‘s seventh season, and it just so happens to be King Ezekiel’s pet, Shiva. Apparently Ezekiel was a zookeeper in a past life and save Shiva after she was seriously injured, which allowed the two unlikely friends to form a strong relationship and loyalty to one another.

3.) Ezekiel Is Connected To The Hilltop

While it remains a mystery whether or not Ezekiel will end up being a good guy or a bad guy in season seven, we can share that in the comics by Robert Kirkman that Ezekiel is friendly with The Hilltop community. Could this come in handy for Rick and the rest of the survivors? We’ll just have to wait and see!

4.) Ezekiel Plays A Major Part In Taking Down Negan

In the comics it is Ezekiel who forms an alliance of survivors to join forces and take out Negan and The Saviors once and for all. It’s unconfirmed if this will go down the same way on the show since you know that they like to switch it up on us from time to time, but no matter what the King will be part of Negan’s demise.

5.) Ezekiel Has A Thing For Michonne

Oh yes, Michonne is super popular in the comics! Ezekiel takes a liking to Michonne in the comics, and although that sounds like a scandal to those who watch the show, it’s much more complicated than that. You see in the comics Andrea is still alive, and she is the one who is romantically involved with Rick, not Michonne. So while it’s possible that Ezekiel will still be very interested in Michonne upon meeting her, we could have a love triangle on our hands in season seven!
