Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) are getting a little lovin’ in when they can. In the Sept. 27 promo, the couple makes out on the stairs of their home. “How much time do we have left until the kids wake up?” Jack wonders as Rebecca wraps her arm around him. “I don’t care,” she breathily says before pulling Jack in for another kiss. Aw!

As we learned in the premiere, Jack and Rebecca are the parents of Kevin (Justin Hartley), Rebecca (Chrissy Metz) and Randall (Sterling K. Brown). The show will follow Kevin, Rebecca and Randall in the present day, while simultaneously following Jack and Rebecca’s journey in the past.

Also in the next episode, Kate struggles as Toby (Chris Sullivan) begins to lose weight more easily than she can. Toby tries to make her feel better by telling her that their weight shouldn’t be the focus of their relationship. “Everything isn’t going to be about our weight,” Toby tells Kate. “We need to cut loose. We need to have sex.”

Meanwhile, Kevin is facing the consequences of his meltdown on The Manny set. Katey Sagal joins the cast and she has some unfortunate words for Kevin. “The network owns you,” she says. “They could bankrupt you.” And that’s only the good news.

The premiere showed Randall’s biological father, William (Ron Cephas Jones), moving in with Randall and his family. In the next episode, William asks Randall for money, sparking concerns from Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson). Beth confronts William and asks him if he’s really sick. She doesn’t want William taking advantage of Randall at a vulnerable time. “If I’m overstaying my welcome, just say it,” he says. This Is Us airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
