This is terrifying. CBS just revealed a sneak peek of the premiere of ‘Survivor,’ showing just how crazy it gets when a cyclone hits camp, causing the first evacuation ever to happen in the show’s 33 seasons. Watch it here!
“A cyclone’s going to be hitting today and I’m not surprised, actually, that we’re gonna have some devastating weather tonight,” Rachel, a member of the Gen X tribe said in the new trailer for Survivor: Millennials Vs. Gen X. “So, we’re actually going to be evacuated.” We see in the promo that there are a lot of high winds and rain and while the show
usually always forces the tribes to take on whatever comes their way, this time was different.
“When mother nature strikes, she never loses,” a voiceover says in another preview seen below. Then Jeff Probst tells everyone that they’ll be evacuated for the first time ever in Survivor history.
“For 32 seasons of Survivor, we’ve been very lucky to have escaped some severe storms,” the host told EW. “This time, the storm caught us. It was only day two and in a matter of hours, a nice afternoon turned into a severe rainstorm that kept growing in intensity by the hour. We were monitoring the weather minute by minute back at base camp. When the national Fijian weather service upgraded it to a cyclone, we had to evacuate both tribes from their beaches and get them to safety. We have never had to evacuate tribes in 32 seasons of Survivor.”
While last season included a great amount of injuries and medical evacuations, this time is much different — and we’ll see it all go down on the show. Survivor: Millennials Vs. Gen X kicks off with a 90-minute premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 8PM.
