Sadly, the 40-year-old leaves behind 11 kids, who he fathered with ten different mothers. However, his legacy will obviously live on through his fans who will continue to support his music, both as a solo artist and in the group D4L, long after he is gone!
Shawty, whose real name is Carlos Walker, burst onto the rap scene in 2003 with his group D4L, and at that same time, he found D4L Records. D4L put out music from 2003-2006, with their biggest hit being the No. 1 single “Laffy Taffy.” After the group disbanded, Shawty went solo, debuting his song “Dey Know” in 2007. He released albums in 2008 and 2016 as a solo artist, but mostly worked as the leader of D4L records, which he signed to G-Unit South for $10 million in 2011.
