Yikes! An arrest warrant has been issued for NFL player Josh Gordon! The wide receiver for the Browns is wanted by police for allegedly blowing off a judge on multiple occasions and refusing to cooperate in a paternity case he’s involved in. NOT a good look. Get all the details about Josh’s case below!
Police are currently on the hunt for Josh Gordon, 25, who plays professional football for the Cleveland Browns. The arrest warrant was reportedly issued because the NFL star failed to appear in court before a judge several times in a paternity case, according to Cleveland.com.
The paternity case, according to a report from the site, involves an Ohio woman, reportedly named Christina Lockhart, who says that Josh is the father of her now one-year-old daughter. She filed a lawsuit against him last year and is seeking child support from him. Due to these claims, a judge ordered the athlete to provide a DNA sample and attend hearings, however, Josh reportedly failed to comply with any of the orders — thus a warrant was issued for his arrest on August 31.
Christina filed her complaint on July 2, 2015 saying that no one else is presumed to be the father of her child. She is currently on public welfare and is seeking child support from Josh, according to the complaint filed by Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Kira Kittoe Krivosh.
The Browns have issued a statement regarding the matter saying, “We are aware of the situation. Josh and his attorney are working with the Cuyahoga County Courts to resolve this matter. We have no further comment at this time.” Josh is currently suspended for the first four games of the season due to a violation of the NFL substance-abuse program.
