The disturbing murder of JonBenet Ramsey continues to make waves. Following the wildly popular ‘Case of: JonBenet Ramsey’ documentary series, the late beauty queen’s family has vowed to sue CBS for pointing the finger at their son Burke and accusing him of murdering his sister! Get all of the details right here.
The Ramsey family is outraged by The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey, and lawyer L. Lin Wood told Reuters on Sept. 20 that he will be suing the CBS network on behalf of Burke Ramsey, 29, for being wrongfully portrayed as the murderer of his sister JonBenet. Wood told the outlet that the documentary is a “false and unprofessional television attack”, and is full of “lies, misrepresentations, distortions and omissions”. Whoa!
“I will be filing a lawsuit on behalf of Burke Ramsey,” Wood added. “CBS’ false and unprofessional attacks on this young man are disgusting and revolting.” He also called the network “corporate profit mongers”, and maintains that they “aired the program during the September ‘sweeps’ for maximum ratings benefit”, Reuters said. However, CBS told HollywoodLife.com in a statement: “CBS stands by the broadcast and will do so in court.”
The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey, a limited event docu-series, has stirred the pot once again since its Sept. 18 premiere. The series cracks open the 20-year-old unsolved murder of slain beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey, bringing forth new experts to try and solve the crime. Though no one has been charged with JonBenet’s murder, a panel of experts in the documentary conclude that Burke, who was 9 at the time, killed his sister with a heavy object, though it was possibly by accident.
