One legend inspired by another. Corey Feldman opens up to HollywoodLife.com in an EXCLUSIVE interview that the late King Of Pop, Michael Jackson, was his inspiration for his newest musical persona. Keep reading for more from the iconic actor turned rock star.
Corey Feldman, 45, has been killing it as a rocker for years. So where did he learn all of his moves? Well, from none other than his close friend, the late great Michael Jackson. Corey explains, “I got inspired by Michael because I saw him dancing,” the actor shares in an EXCLUSIVE interview with HollywoodLife.com. That inspiration has translated into 5 albums and a career in music. His latest set of club bangers, Angelic 2 The Core, available now, is full of cameos from big names like Snoop Dogg, Fred Durst and Kurupt.
“There was a time in my childhood when I was not open to anything. I was very angry that I was being so badly abused, I didn’t want to take on anything else, I was already working all the time,” Corey says. He goes on to explain the troubles of a child actor, “I was like, ‘God, leave me alone, you know, give me five minutes, I don’t want this.’ So I was opposed to all of it as a little kid and that was when I got inspired by Michael.” In the 80’s Corey rose to fame after starring in amazing films like Goonies and Stand By Me.
“When I saw the dancing I was like, ‘Wow, that is really cool. I want to dance like that. That is an amazing style, I have never seen anybody use that rhythm, use that style before and so I started copying it,” Corey says of Michael’s influence. The original King Of Pop, passed away in 2009 and Corey has kept Michael’s moves alive with music. “It got bigger and bigger and bigger to where people expected to see this dance from me every time I went to a party. The time I saw him dance changed my life,” says Corey. Wow, so cool.
