If the theme to The X-Files started playing in your head, you’re not alone. The new picture, taken by Ian Bremner, 58, has many people believing that after years of grainy footage, the real Loch Ness Monster has been found.
The Scottish father-of-four was pursuing his photography hobby around the Highlands, according to The Mirror. While he was searching to take pictures of red deer, he might have found some bigger game: specifically, one of the most famous sea monsters in the world! Ian didn’t realize what he captured with his camera until he returned home to Nigg, Invergordon. After reviewing his photos, he saw the shot of the two-meter long silvery creature swimming away from the lens. It’s a part of the world that always makes you second guess what you’re seeing,” Ian said.
“When you’re up there you’re constantly looking in the water to see if you can spot anything in there,” he added. “This is the first time I’ve ever seen Nessie in the loch. I would be amazing if I was the first one to find her.”
Ian, who’s normally a skeptic when it comes to Nessie’s existence, might be a believer after this close encounter with the Scottish superstar. “I suppose it could be seals – but I’m not so sure,” he said. “The more I think about it, the more I think it could be Nessie.”
If Ian happens to run into Nessie again, maybe he can ask if the monster likes to vacation in the River Thames? In Apr. 2016, tourists near the O2 Arena in London spotted a strange creature swimming in the river. While some speculated that this creature was a lost whale (much like doubters think Ian’s shot is of a trio of playful seals) others are certain there’s a new monster creeping around England’s capital.
