I’m totally Team Nick. But I didn’t always think that way. I loved him on Andi Dorfman’s season of The Bachelor, but when he showed up on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season, it was just too much. I was already firmly on Team Shawn by the time Nick showed up.

However, over the course of Bachelor in Paradise, I began to realize that Nick’s actually the coolest guy, which makes him an exceptional choice for The Bachelor. He’s so real. He doesn’t try to be someone he’s not. He’s honest, but not in an over-the-top way. Nick really tried to find a connection with someone on the show and made lifelong friends along the way.
I think I came to like Nick so much on Bachelor In Paradise because I was able to really focus on him, instead of seeing him through Andi and Kaitlyn’s perspective. I realized that he’s just an normal guy who wants to find his soulmate, and he does deserve this opportunity more than anyone. People find love in different ways, and Nick just has a knack for finding it in a fast-paced environment like The Bachelor/The Bachelorette.
Nick being the new Bachelor is his redemption after being the runner-up on two seasons of The Bachelorette. Nick has a tumultuous history with the franchise, and that’s a real treat for fans of the show like myself. Rather than getting to know someone fairly new, we already know pretty much everything about Nick. We already love him, so we’re really going to be rooting for him to find love.
Plus, it helps that Nick has never looked better. I don’t know what he’s done since Kaitlyn’s season, whether it’s just he’s been hitting the gym or has a new outlook on life, but it’s working. Nick is hotter than ever. That scruff, those abs and that adorable smile is enough to make any girl swoon. I’m ready for you, Nick. I’m READY.
