Could all of your wishes be coming true, Potterheads? A new report claims that Daniel Radcliffe is in serious talks to reprise the role of Harry Potter in the upcoming film, ‘Harry Potter and The Cursed Child.’
This is really huge news! The original Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe, could be returning to the big screen as the iconic character that made him a huge Hollywood star. Warner Bros. is hoping to make the latest installment in the series, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, it’s very own movie as soon as 2020, reports the NY Daily News — and they want Daniel back as Harry!
“Warners is secretly working on getting the movie rights and a screenplay settled, and of course in their minds only one man should be Harry,” a source shared with the outlet. “However he has made it clear that his mind is certainly not focused on returning to the role anytime soon — and that could be until he hits 40.” Eek.
If Daniel decides to return, it would be his ninth take as Harry Potter. It’s unclear if any of the other cast is being asked to return as well, though if they did it would surely make Potterheads explode with glee.
Interestingly enough, Daniel was recently asked during an interview whether or not he would be willing to take on the role again as the older version of Harry Potter. “It’s a tricky one. You never want to close a door on anything, especially something that’s been so good to me. But I do think, at the moment, I’m definitely not at a stage where I would feel comfortable going back to it,” he explained. “Who knows if in 10, 20 years I would feel differently about that, and I think I’ve got a little while before I’m sort of age-appropriate for this Harry.” Bummer.
