Shannen Doherty continues to document her brave battle with breast cancer. The ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ actress, who started chemotherapy on Aug. 10, took to Instagram to share a photo of her nurse giving her the needle injection. We can’t help but tear up while looking at the heartbreaking pics. See them below.
Shannen Doherty‘s battle with breast cancer has taken a heart-rendering turn. Earthier this month, the former Charmed actress, 45, announced in a touching sit-down interview that the cancer had spread to her lymph-nodes, and that chemotherapy will be the next step in her recovery plan. Shannen posted a picture on Instagram stating that her first chemotherapy session happened on Aug. 10 with attentive nurse Dawn, who gave her an injection called the “Red Devil.”

The 90210 star explained that the medical injection will run through a “port that’s in my chest,” while her husband, Kurt Iswarienko, captured the process with his iPhone. Kurt has been a driving force in Shannen’s recovery as he has sat by her side through every session. On her first day of chemotherapy, he kissed her forehead and held her hand through the entire development. We can’t even imagine how difficult it must be to see a loved one go through such a life-changing event. The only thing we can do is stay positive and keep our prayers with Shannen and her family!
Leave it to a courageous soul like Shannen to use her cancer battle for some GOOD. Shannen has been using Instagram as a helpful platform to shine a light on the cell-altering disease that affects so many women today. Khloe Kardashian had her own cancerous scare when she discovered an odd mole on her lower back, which she thankfully had surgically removed in time. Hollywood is FULL of cancer survivors, like Kylie Monigue, Christina Applegate, and Sheryl Crow. We know that Shannen will do her best to stay strong and keep on fighting for the sake of her loving family, friends, and fans!
