Oh no. Selena Gomez is only halfway done with her ‘Revival World Tour,’ but she just announced she’s taking a break to take care of herself. Apparently, she’s been dealing with a lot of ‘anxiety, panic attacks and depression.’ So what does this mean for the rest of her tour? Find out here!
“As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways,” Selena Gomez, 24, told PEOPLE on Aug. 30. “I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges. I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off. Thank you to all my fans for your support. You know how special you are to me, but I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best. I know I am not alone by sharing this, I hope others will be encouraged to address their own issues.”
We’re very happy that Selena is taking some time off to take care of herself, but of course, we have to wonder — what does this mean for her ongoing Revival World Tour? The tour started in May 2016, and it’s not supposed to end until December 18, 2016. At this moment, tickets are still on sale, and Selena hasn’t said anything about canceling the remainder of her tour dates. But she did say she’s “taking some time off,” so it’s very possible the remaining dates (34 of them!) on her tour will be cancelled.
HollywoodLife.com has reached out to both Selena’s rep and tour promoters for comment.
We must note — this isn’t the first time Selena has cancelled a tour to take care of herself. In 2013, she took a break in the midst of her Stars Dance tour, and later revealed it was because she was battling the autoimmune disease.
