Go girl! Meghan Trainor, 22, had a flawless appearance on The Tonight Show Aug, 29, and she was able to joke about her total wipeout fall back on May 12 where she tripped on her on her high heels. But it was her amazing performance of her third single “Better” that completely blew our minds. The slow burn of a song has a great reggae twinge as Meghan sings about how she deserves “better than you,” going along with the self-confidence theme of the rest of her album Thank You. Rapper Yo Gotti, 35, is featured on the song and they totally knocked it out of the park.
Meghan looked stunning in a black sequined mini-dress and a long coat over it. While she had on thigh high boots, they only had a two-inch heel and she stuck to dancing in place at her microphone so there were no spills this time around! She even promised Jimmy Fallon, 41, during her interview segment that, “I’m not going to fall because I have comfy shoes on!” and she delivered!
Jimmy went there about her last appearance where she fell, recounting how her performance of “Me Too” was a “10 our of 10, you looked at me and I was like ‘great job’ and you turned this way and I saw you go down…I wish I could have saved you. I went over and laid down next to you and said it was all good up to the end. You were so close.”
But here’s the crazy part, the kind-hearted host had Meghan do a second take so that her humiliating fall would never be seen, but she wanted it to appear anyway He explained, “You got up and did it again, the whole song and you didn’t fall and when we were done with the show you said ‘I think we should air the one where I fall.'” WHAT?!!?
Meghan explained she hated the look of fear she had on her clean version. “I saw both takes, I saw my face on the second take and I was like ‘don’t fall, don’t fall.’ You know what, the first one’s better, let them have it, I’m going to fall eventually one day so let this be it.” Bless her heart! We just love that Meghan was so willing to let herself be shown with that awkwardness and all! How incredibly real…and self confident!
