Look who’s back! Jeah, it’s Ryan Lochte. After all the drama that went down in Rio, Ryan is ready to focus on his next career move: dancing. The 32-year-old Olympian is making the right move by joining ‘Dancing with the Stars’ — it’s time to put the past in the past.
“I think it’s everyone blowing this way out of proportion. I think that’s what happened,” Ryan said on Good Morning America when asked if he was embarrassed about what happened in the Rio games. He’s come clean about lying, he’s taken full responsibility, and he’s apologized to everyone involved. As he said, he is human and he made a mistake. So, is Dancing with the Stars the smartest move? My answer is yes.
Ryan has made all the moves he needed to do after what went down in Rio. He sat down with Matt Lauer and confessed everything, play by play that happened; he apologized and called his actions — namely lying and leave the country without his teammates — “immature.” So, why not join DWTS? The show has a huge fan base and a forgiving audience.
Ryan made it clear that he just wants to move on, and what better way to do that than to dance on a show that a ton of people watch? Will people love him and vote for him? Well, we’ll have to wait and see, but Ryan did bring up a good point on his GMA interview. “There’s other bigger issues that this world is facing,” he said.
That’s right. Plus, he could just hide and not speak out about any of this. But instead, he’s owning up to his mistakes, and using his strengths to make people smile by dancing on ABC. And personally, I can’t wait to see. I was entertained by his reality show, and I hope this one will be even more entertaining.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Ryan is making the right move?
