‘Dancing With The Stars’ pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Derek Hough are turning up the HEAT for Season 23 with their fancy footwork — but what about their feud? With a new season on the horizon, will the experienced dancers be able to put their differences aside? Read on to find out!
Season 23 of Dancing With The Stars is gearing up to be the craziest, juiciest, and HOTTEST one yet! On the heels of Derek Hough‘s announcement that he will be returning to the show with sister Julianne, bad boy rival Maksim Chmerkovskiy, 36, claims their beef is OVER and they’re ready to move on, according to a new report by Us Weekly. “I don’t have a rivalry with Derek,” he told the magazine. “Derek may have a rivalry with me, but I don’t have one.”
Their feud began when the Ukrainian hunk stated that Derek received biased favoritism from the show’s judges and producers, and believed that’s how he went on to win the title in seasons 7, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 21. Sure, that’s an incredibly long list of achievements, but it’s probably because Derek is a phenomenal dancer AND coach! In order to win the gold, you have be a great teacher as well, which is maybe where Maks falls short. “I just literally said everything that everybody else thinks,” continues Maks, referring to Derek’s winning charm with the judges. “Listen, I don’t have a problem with Derek. The producers have changed and it’s different now.”
With Season 23 kicking off on Sept. 12, let’s take a look at some of the fresh faces joining the team! First up, is the ever-so talked about Ryan Lochte, who’s started a few scandals of his own with the Rio robbery story, so he should fit right in. Then there’s bootylicious model Amber Rose, Detroit Lions’ wide receiver Calvin Johnson, the iconic Vanilla Ice, and Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez.
