Rihanna blew us away at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 28! The stunning songstress took her already-amazing performance to the next level by coming out AGAIN before accepting her Video Vanguard Award. Here’s the scoop on the ‘Rude Boy’, ‘Work’ & ‘What’s My Name’ medley!
Rihanna is QUEEN! The gorgeous Barbadian singer hit the stage for the second time on Aug. 28 to perform “Rude Boy,” “What’s My Name,” and “Work” at the VMAs. The coolest part was that “Rude Boy” was performed to the beat of her first hit EVER “Pon De Replay.” She looked amazing throughout the performance rocking black leather jogging pants, a pink silk bra with fluffy feathers and a super long black mesh du-rag. So fab!

The amazing performance was actually RiRi’s second of the night. She kicked off the massive show rocking an all-pink b-girl ensemble while she sang and danced to some of her biggest hits from the past, like “Where Have You Been?” and “We Found Love” and it totally got us so hyped for the show! However, now’s not the time to turn the TV off, because Rihanna will be performing a whopping FOUR times during the Video Music Awards!
The overwhelming number of performances are all part of celebrating her receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. The award is the highest honor that the MTV Video Music Awards can bestow upon an artist, and Rihanna has definitely earned the huge accomplishment. She’s been cranking out hits since 2005, and we think over a decade of amazing music should definitely be celebrated! We can’t wait to see what her last two performances have in store for us! One thing’s for sure, HollywoodLife.com will be bringing you all the updates you need!
