Wow — now THAT was a close one! Reggae artist J Balvin nearly lost his life after a small plane he was traveling in went down just after takeoff! Talk about a terrifying situation! Watch the singer’s emotional Snapchat videos he shot in the aftermath of the disaster here.
Reggae star J Balvin, 31, must be thanking his lucky stars right now after a plane he was flying in crashed in the Bahamas on Aug. 26. Luckily he’s safe and sound and no one was injured in the incident, but in the Snapchats he took shortly after the incident, he was visibly shaken as he thanked God for surviving the crash.
“I can confirm that there was an incident with a small plane on which J Balvin was departing the Bahamas,” a spokesperson for the artist said in a statement. “J Balvin Is OK, sustaining no injuries, but we do not have any further details on exactly what happened with the flight at this time.” We’re just so happy the star is alive!
Earlier in the day, J posted a photo to Facebook showing the small plane surrounded by bushes. Later, however, the pic was taken down from his Instagram. But he did post an image of himself sitting in the airplane’s wing with a note that said: “We’re safe. God didn’t want us to die today.” WHAT a day!
In the video posted to J’s snapchat and edited by TMZ, the artist can be seen speaking to the camera in Spanish. The clip begins with him saying his vacation is over, which he presumably shot moments before taking off in the small plane. The next shot however is much scarier as it was taken just after the plane crashed.
“I don’t know what happened, but, the airplane crashed,” the visibly jolted musician says. “Definitely when it’s not your day, it’s not your day,” he continued as he showed images of the fallen aircraft. We can only imagine how crazy the whole ordeal must have been!
