Grace VanderWaal just amazed audiences with her brand new song, ‘Beautiful Thing,’ performed on ‘America’s Got Talent.’ Click here to watch the highly-anticipated performance of her original song — one that is sure to be a hit.
It is a well-known fact that 12-year-old musical prodigy Grace VanderWaal has the voice of an angel. But now we’re pretty sure Grace has become the official songbird of her generation as well, after hearing her performance of her new original, “Beautiful Thing,” on the Aug. 23 episode of America’s Got Talent.
Grace sang and played her little heart out on her ukulele in a gorgeous short blue dress on the show in front of a purple tree covered in twinkle lights and surrounded by a light cloud of fog and bright lights on the ground. Seriously, could they make her look more magical?
“You think that you know my heart,” Grace began the song. “And you probably do/So I’m always with you/I could stay with you for hours in an empty room and never get bored/Never have nothing to do/You’re my other half/You’re what makes me, me/What makes me smile/When I fall down I can’t get back, get back, get back up on my, hey, feet/You’re a beautiful thing,” she sang to a cheering crowd. Grace had taken down the house, and Twitter, by the time the performance of her original was over.

The singer first performed the song on YouTube. She had originally titled it, “I’ll Hold Your Hand,” and described it as an “original for my sister.” “I was going to explain what this song was about but I’d like it to just relate to you, and not have my description of it kind of impact the way you look at it,” Grace said when introducing the song to her followers. OMG, we can’t handle the cuteness.
