‘Nashville’ is coming back, but it definitely won’t be the same. With the show landing a 22-episode pick up on CMT, its lead won’t be in all the episodes. So, where’s Rayna going?
Connie Britton is set to exit Nashville about midway through season five, our sister site TVLine confirmed. Entertainment Weekly was the first to report that she has only signed on for about 10 episodes of the 22, with hope that they’ll get her for more. TVLine sources also added that the negotiations with her are still ongoing.
As for what the storyline for this season will be, TVGuide has reported that Rayna will meet a superfan, who develops a young app and he wants to help introduce her music to a younger group. So, why would Connie leave early? Well that’s still up in the air, but fans have been hoping she make a return to American Horror Story, as she starred in season one.
Season five is set to pick up on Jan. 5 on CMT, but no word yet on what will happen to Connie’s character, Rayna James. In what we thought was the series finale of the show Hayden Panettiere’s character, Juliette Barnes appeared Juliette’s character to have been killed in a plane crash while on her way home. However, Hayden as signed on for the new season.
The ex-ABC show will now be rum by new showrunners Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick, and both Will Chase and Aubrey Peeples are set to return. How do you think they’ll write off Rayna? Are you bummed she won’t be in the whole show, and should it continue on without her?
