We’re FREAKING out! The iconic pop star just revealed Aug. 24 she would perhaps take on the halftime show, but there’s just one thing she would need to pull it off! You have to see she said! Could we seriously get the chance to relive her Super Bowl 2001 show?
We have a serious feeling Britney Spears, 34, just set herself up to be the center of the Super Bowl halftime show buzz! The singer expressed her interest in taking the coveted NFL stage in a new interview. “Yes, I would probably do that,” Britney told BBC Radio. AHH!
However, the blonde songstress would need a “little” help with the gig if she landed it. “Definitely not on my own,” she explained. “I would have to have a little support there. Another artist, of course. I don’t think you would ever do the Super Bowl alone, that would be kind of scary. I don’t think I would be able to do it.” Oh Brit, WE think you would be just fine if you hit the stage by yourself! Not to mention, she easily owns the spotlight at her Vegas residency!
As for an accompanying artist to join her? — We have a few ideas! How about Selena Gomez, 24? The two became the talk of Twitter when they teased a possible collaboration together back in July 2016, and we’re still waiting on that epic moment to happen!
Brit also got pretty candid about “divas” in the biz! She spoke to BBC about how other artists “are busy” when trying to book collaborations. “People are busy. We all have lives,” she said. “It’s kind of hard. You wouldn’t believe it, but a lot of the people in the entertainment business, if you try to work with them or set up projects, a lot of times people don’t show up. A lot of people are divas in the industry.” WOW! She continued, “Oh my goodness! I could tell you thousands of stories, but I’m not really allowed to give out that information and what they did, so you know how that goes.” Britney was asked if she’s ever worked with “divas before,” to where she replied and laughed, “Oh yes, and that’s why it’s better to go it alone, my friend.” LOL!
If she does land the upcoming gig, it would mark her first Super Bowl performance as the main act. She hit the coveted stage in 2001 with Aerosmith and N’Sync — Can we say nostalgia? — but, she was not the featured performer. Fingers crossed we’re going to see our girl take the Super Bowl stage!
