What a sight! When The Chainsmokers took the stage to perform their latest hit, ‘Closer,’ in Manila, the sold-out crowd started one of the most epic sing-alongs they’ve ever seen. Watch the insane video right here!
Before even breaking into the song, Drew Taggart (who sings the male vocals on “Closer”) couldn’t stop saying how “lit” the crowd was. Then once Drew’s co-Chainsmoker Alex Pall got the 20,000-person Mall of Asia Arena audience even more pumped up, they started performing the song — and you could hardly even hear Drew sing because of how loud the crowd was!
In fact, the sing-along was so unreal that Drew threw a little shade at his home country! “You guys love us more than the United States loves us,” he told the crowd. Considering “Closer” just hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S., that’s a serious compliment to the Philippines crowd!
Alex and Drew still couldn’t get over the amazing experience after the show was over, as they shared a video of the craziness on both their Instagram and Facebook pages captioning it, “WHEN THE WHOLE ARENA SINGS WITH YOU.” Clearly it was one memorable night for the guys!

When “Closer” was first released on July 29, Drew shared the story behind the song in an Insta post, revealing that it was about hooking up with an ex and then immediately regretting it. He added, “I hope you guys can relate to my stories in some way or another” in his post — from the sounds of their latest concert crowd, the people of the Philippines certainly can!
