Competing on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ might just be the perfect way for Michael Phelps to ‘enhance’ his career. In an EXCLUSIVE interview, a top sports agent tells HollywoodLife.com that Michael better put on his happy feet and bust a move ASAP! Keep reading to see why it’s a good move.
Dancing With The Stars has the ability to push contestants’ careers to the next level — just look at last season’s champion, Nyle DiMarco, who was recently accepted into Las Vegas’ Chippendales show! Turns out, we’re not the only ones who would love to see Michael Phelps, 31, hit the dance floor. “If Michael Phelps was asked to compete on Dancing With The Stars, I would highly recommend that he do it,” tells legendary sports agent Leigh Steinberg EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. “A retired athlete needs to continue to be involved in activities that enhance his profile.”
Thank you SO much, Leigh, for taking our side! So far, there has been no official contract written up for Michael to sign, but with all the hype surrounding his next career move, it would be silly for ABC to pass on the idea. The only problem would be trying to find a suitable dance partner for the 6’4″ athlete! “The key to endorsement longevity is maintaining a high profile and Dancing With The Stars is one of the top-rated shows in America,” Leigh continues. “Past athletes have had major success in this format. Michael would have a real chance at winning.”
Other athletes who have competed on the show include NFL superstars Antonio Brown, Donald Driver, and Hines Ward. Donald and Hines actually WON their respective seasons! As for season 23, bootylicious model Amber Rose has already signed up, and rumors continue to swirl about JoJo Fletcher joining the cast. Simone Biles politely declined her offer, stating that the show’s scheduling would conflict with her gymnastics duties.
HollywoodLifers, would YOU vote for Michael if he appeared on the show?
