Grace VanderWaal has quite the head on her little shoulders! The twelve-year-old superstar in the making is becoming a household name thanks to her appearance on ‘America’s Got Talent’, and in an Aug. 22 interview, the contestant revealed that she knows exactly how to handle the inevitable success that’s in store for her. Check it out!
Grace VanderWaal, 12, has already gone viral due to her stunning performance on America’s Got Talent, and in a new interview with Teen Vogue, she proved she’s ready for what’s yet to come. “Record labels and producers are not looking to change you, they are looking to make a star,” she pointed out about diving into the industry. Wise kid.
Grace, who is quite precocious to say the least, also declared that no matter what happens, she won’t lose herself in the process. “What they might think is a star may not be you. I would either politely negotiate until I can have a little bit of what they want and what I want,” she added. “Or, I would just walk away and go to a different producer.” We love that Grace is going to stay true to herself — and it goes without saying that she’s got the talent to be able to pick and choose where she wants to take her career!
You may recall that Grace first stole our hearts with her AGT audition, when she played ukelele and sang an original song called “I Don’t Know My Name”. “[I wrote that when I] was doing math homework and I still remember the date. And I just came up with the tune, and then I put words to it,” Grace told the mag. “And then I came up with the plot of it and then that made it easier for lines, and then it was just born!” Amazing.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Grace has what it takes to win AGT?
