The two-hour season premiere of Teen Mom OG was pretty much a giant celebration of Maci Bookout‘s recent engagement and pregnancy announcement. Sure, we already knew these things were coming, since they’ve already happened in real time, but it was nice to see each and every one of the cast members react to the exciting news, including all of Maci’s co-stars!

Maci, Farrah Abraham, Catelynn Lowell and Amber Portwood all met up in Los Angeles to film the reunion special, and it was during this time that Maci broke the news to her friends. Taylor had proposed on the beach earlier that morning with a ring that looked like six diamond bands molded together. He actually told producers it has about 84 diamonds on it. (That ring is massive!) All the girls seemed super happy for Maci, even Farrah who hasn’t had the best relationship with Maci over the years. Catelynn was so happy that she started getting giddy over the idea of Maci having more kids. Maci laughed at the idea, but unbeknownst to her, it wasn’t something that was too far off in her future. As we later learned in the episode, what Maci thought was mere stomach fat (Bentley told her she needs to lose weight) ended up being a baby bump. And she didn’t seem too thrilled with the idea of having two kids under 2 years old.

Meanwhile, the other Teen Moms went through some changes of their own. Especially Farrah, who started looking for houses in Los Angeles. And she, too, got an engagement ring (one that’s 14 carats) — but she bought it for herself in hopes Simon would give it to her and propose. He has yet to do that, unfortunately. And it caused major tension between Farrah and her man. Even worse — he also caused problems with Farrah’s mom, when he posted a picture of her mugshot online in retaliation for when she accused him of having domestic violence tendencies last season. If we had to guess on a scale from 1 to 10 whether Simon will eventually propose to Farrah with that ring, we’d go with a negative 5. (Sorry Farrah.)

Amber also dealt with some relationship issues this week. She and Gary (who mysteriously lost his eyebrows) finally came to an agreement on 50/50 custody of Leah, but her relationship with Matt isn’t on as good of a path. Not only did he keep getting calls from media outlets about his alleged exes and how he may be the father of more children, but Farrah called Amber to tell her about how he tried romancing her and Jenelle Evans before even meeting Amber. (Gross!) Amber wasn’t quite sure what to believe, but for now, she has called off their wedding.

Lastly, Catelynn was still dealing with her postpartum depression. She even called Dr. Drew for some guidance before seeing her own therapist. From their perspective, Catelynn’s issues seem to have stemmed from trauma she experienced as a teenager — from both her mom and her mom’s boyfriends. On a positive note, however, she and Tyler bought a new house, which they plan on renovating. And they even discussed having more kids, but Tyler (and his mom) thought it would be best if they wait until Catelynn gets a hold of her emotional issues.
