Okay, the amount of talent that J.K. Rowling has is just unfair. Not only did she pen the best magical young adult series of all time, but she has hand-illustrated certain moments from the books. The brand new ‘Harry Potter’ sketches appeared on the Pottermore site on Aug. 21, and you can see them right here!
What a gift. Three new handwritten drawings of characters and scenes from the Harry Potter series have surfaced, thanks to J.K. Rowling, 51, and they blew us away! Click through our gallery, attached, to see the impressive sketches, which were shared on Pottermore as part of the “Peeves”, “Potions” and “History of Quidditch World Cup” articles.
The first drawing features Harry and his fellow students looking up at the mischievous ghost Peeves as he floats above them, grasping a bunch of canes (presumably so he can throw them on people’s heads). Diehard fans will recall that Peeves was excluded from the movie franchise, so here Rowling has given us a bit more of the beloved character.
Next, we have a scary drawing of Professor Severus Snape pacing back and forth in the classroom as Harry and Ron scramble to concoct whatever complicated potion Snape has decided to assign that day. Brilliant.
Finally, Rowling has drawn a scene from a heated Quidditch World Cup match, which if I have to explain the meaning of to you, then why are you even reading this?
Rowling has shared drawings of hers in the past, including one of Harry at the Mirror of Erised and in front of the Dursleys’ fireplace. Still, we continue to be dumbfounded by her artistic talents, and hope she decides to share more in the future!
