Don’t blink! You might miss Usain Bolt! The fastest man alive races for the gold on Aug. 18, the same day Ashton Eaton attempts to win the decathlon for second time. It’s going to be good and HollywoodLife.com wants you to see. Click to watch.
It will be an exciting day for Track and Field enthusiasts, as five medal events will take place on Aug. 18. Some of the fastest runners, strongest throwers and highest jumpers will be crowned. The action kicks off at 8:30 A.M. ET so be ready to see every exciting moment!
Sports fans can catch all the action courtesy of NBC’s official Olympic live stream (after they enter their cable/satellite information.) CLICK HERE TO WATCH RIO 2016 TRACK AND FIELD LIVE STREAM
Usain Bolt, 29, the fastest man on the planet, will attempt to pull off the “triple triple,” defending his 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay gold medals (that he won in Beijing 2008 and London 2012.) After securing the 100m on Aug. 14, he now runs in the final of the 200m. He faces stiff competition from Justin Gatlin, 34, the man who almost beat Bolt at the 100m.
Will Ashton Eaton, 28, repeat as the “world’s greatest athlete?” The man who holds the word record in the decathlon is the heavy favorite to take the Rio 2016 gold, adding to the top prize he took in the London 2012 games.
The Olympics will crown its winner in the men’s 400m hurdles. Kerron Clement, 30, of the USA, had the fastest qualifying time with 48.26 seconds. Will this speedy streak lead him to another gold medal? Or will he suffer another heartbreak like the one at the London 2012 games, when he failed to even medal?
Hopefully, the runners keep their head’s up when the best female javelin throwers take to the field. Maria Andrejczyk, 20, blew the competition away during the qualification rounds, registering a 67.11m throw. Her closest competition was Barbora Špotáková, 35, of the Czech Republic, who registered a 64.65 toss. Is this competition already wrapped up for Maria?
Medals will be awarded in the men’s shot put and the women’s 400m hurdles. There’ll be plenty of more track and field action so get ready to see some of the world’s finest athletes compete.
Which sports are you most excited to see, HollywoodLifers? Are you ready to watch Usain speed by or to see Ashton go back-to-back?
