Amy Schumer’s tweet caused quite the panic among comedy fans — but ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon. The comedian may have wrote ‘we aren’t making the show anymore,’ but that doesn’t mean it’s over. Here’s her explanation.
“I am so saddened and disappointed in Kurt Metzger. He is my friend and a great writer and I couldn’t be more against his recent actions. Kurt does not work for me. He is not a writer on my show. Please stop asking me about it. His words are not mine,” Amy Schumer tweeted on Aug. 17 about Kurt Metzger, after the writer made very offensive sexual assault comments. “I didn’t fire Kurt. He isn’t a writer for my show because we aren’t making the show anymore. There are no writers for it.” Of course that drew many to wonder if the show was over. Plus, she followed it up by retweeting a fan who said they’d miss the show.
While we didn’t get a response from Comedy Central, Amy realized the uproar of fan reaction and took to Twitter to clear everything up:

Phew. She also added that on top of her book tour, she’s “doing stand up and focusing on writing more for the next year at least.” However, you’ll see more Inside Amy Schumer soon. “We are slated for a season 5 but not in the foreseeable future,” she wrote. “I’m grateful @ComedyCentral is giving me this time to work on other projects. Now please grab my book #TheGirlWithTheLowerBackTattoo for now.”
Season four of the Comedy Central show ended earlier this summer, and Amy’s tour goes through December; it will hit the United Kingdom, Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand. So of course with the show on hiatus for “the foreseeable future,” we’re kind of bummed we won’;t be seeing it soon. But hey, at least it’s back!
