Jodie Sweetin is ready to get the Olsens back — even if she has to (literally) become them herself. HollywoodLife.com caught up with the actress while at TCA promoting her new show, ‘Hollywood Darlings,’ and she joked about the sisters.
While it’s clearly not possible to get Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen on Fuller House, Jodie Sweetin has another idea: bring them on her new docu-comedy, Hollywood Darlings, which is set to follow three lifelong friends — Jodie, 7th Heaven‘s Beverly Mitchell and Step By Step‘s Christine Lakin — who grew up together in “the business.”
“Mr. Bear’s holding out for a lot of f–king money right now,” Jodie told us during the Television’s Critics Association’s Summer press tour, when asked if any of the girls’ costars would guest star. “I’m gonna dress up like an Olsen twin, does that count? I mean it doesn’t matter. Big sunglasses & a gigantic top, you won’t even be able to tell!”
But does she lie?! Nope!
Jodie recently told Entertainment Tonight that the show has done everything possible to get the twins to guest start but have “kinda given up.” So, maybe that means they’re free for Jodie’s show! Hey, you never know.
The show will air on Pop and is a “unique hybrid” of reality TV and a docu-series. “Think Curb Your Enthusiasm,” Jodie said. “It’s A-B storylines; it’s very clear what were doing each episode.” While they’ll know when the cameras start and end rolling, it will mostly just be giving us a glimpse of their ever day lives, including their families, jobs, etc.
“You might [see past costars], there are a lot of talks,” Christine added. “I’m trying to get Suzanne Somers away from her thigh master to come and grace us with her presence. I think our fans and fans of the ’90s will be very excited to see some of the people we have lined up.”
The eight episode show bringing ’90s dreams to reality will begin production in September and air later this year on POP.
