Calling all criminal investigation addicts, the fateful case of JonBenét Ramsey’s murder has been REOPENED by CBS. ‘The Case of JonBenét Ramsey’ will take a closer look at the beauty queen’s tragic death as the FBI believes there is still justice to be had! Watch the spine-tingling trailer below.
If you thought Steven Avery’s Making A Murderer series caused a huge uproar, you haven’t seen ANYTHING yet! The Case of JonBenét on CBS will revisit the murder mystery of the six-year old beauty pageant that left America enraged and completely speechless 20 years ago. Her body was found by father John Ramsey, 72, in 1996 in the basement of her family’s home about eight hours after she was reported missing — but her killer was NEVER successfully identified! Years later, people are still buzzing about this unsolvable thriller, and it’s inspired the FBI to take action once again. Check out the frightening trailer below.
As police dove head first into the investigation, they discovered that mother Patsy received a ransom letter demanding $118,000 for JonBenét’s safe return, which freakishly reflected the EXACT amount she and her husband received from work bonuses that year. This made the police believe that a family friend committed the crime OR — the parents themselves! But in 2008, the cops ran her parents’ DNA, which ultimately cleared them of murdering their baby. So who the heck did it?!
You have to remember that back in 1996, criminal investigators didn’t have the tools or technology to run fingerprints or blood tests like we do today, which is why the FBI is confident that they will FINALLY be able to track down her murderer this time around. “We hope to get the truth out about how she died,” says Jim Clemente, an FBI investigator who worked the original case. “She’s not gotten justice yet!” JonBenét’s autopsy results showed that she had been killed by strangulation that also left her with a skull fracture, but we still don’t know who did it. To find out the truth, tune in on Sept. 18 on CBS for the premiere episode of the six-hour docuseries.
