Olympic champion Simone Biles is keeping her head up after her devastating slip on the balance beam, when she won the bronze medal after nearly falling during her routine. The 19-year-old gymnastics superstar tweeted on Aug. 15 that’s she isn’t fazed by placing third at all, and in fact can’t wait for floor finals. Check it out!
Simone Biles is one of our favorite people, not just because of her prowess on the balance beam, but because of her amazing attitude. The three-time gold medalist tweeted that she’s not letting the fact that Sanne Wevers, 24, took the gold in the competition on Aug. 15 drag her down! “1st olympics – 4th olympic medal (3 gold & 1 bronze),” Simone said, reminding us that for her first time in the Olympics, she’s doing quite fine, thank you.
“Yall aight out there ? bc I’m more than happy!” she added. “Floor finals tomorrow, so excited.” So are we, Simone! We’re sure you’re going to kill it. “Falls on beam…gets bronze…4th Olympic medal ayeee,” she also said on Snapchat. Love this girl.
Sanne, who’s from the Netherlands, placed first in the Aug. 15 finals with an incredible score of 15.466, followed by Laurie Hernandez, 16, who earned a 15.333. The crowd was at the edge of their seats as Simone almost face-planted on the balance beam, but she recovered and her still-impressive score of 14.733 allowed her to place. A fan tweeted at Simone, “You did so amazing! You fell off the beam and still get bronze. Only a champion could do that,” and Simone retweeted her message, clearly agreeing — as do we!
HollywoodLifers, are you glad Simone is looking on the bright side, rather than dwelling on her third place in yesterday’s event? Tell us if you’re excited to watch her in today’s floor finals!
