Ian Ziering is one dotting dad! And while the father-of-two is also a busy actor — he IS the star of ‘Sharknado’ after all — he would do anything for his daughters! In fact, the star revealed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY some of the beautiful sacrifices he’s made for his family, and seriously, our hearts are melting!
Ian Ziering, 52, has two adorable daughters named Mia Loren, 5, and Penna Mae, 3. And while the actor certainly keeps a busy schedule at times, he always leaves time for his family! Ian even admitted to US Weekly last month that the whole reason he took his starring role in the first Sharknado movie was FOR his fam…even though he wasn’t SUPER thrilled about the part at first.
“I accepted the job to procure my health insurance,” the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum revealed to the publication. “I was having a baby four months later and I needed to provide for my family. I thought the movie would be horrible and I prayed that it would disappear and no one would watch it!” Well, it turns out Sharknado turned into a massive hit — a fourth film was actually released on July 31!
And when asked how else he’s sacrificed for this daughters, Ian told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY about a super cool opportunity he ended up turning down — all for his little girls! “I passed on a trip to the Olympics to stay with my family,” he told us. “I didn’t want to be away from them.” Aw! Giving up a chance to watch the Olympics live? Now THAT’S a big deal!
But what we REALLy love? Ian doesn’t even consider anything a real sacrifice when it comes to family. “I don’t really consider any of these things true sacrifices because it wasn’t really hard for me to turn that down or to accept the movie,” he said. “Ultimately being a dad is the best role I’ve ever had and my number one job is to provide for them.” Spoken like a true superdad!
And we totally don’t blame the star for wanting to spend as much time as he can with his little ones. I mean, they ARE super precious! And one of his favorite daddy/daughter activities? “We enjoy making pillow forts in the morning,” Ian told us.
“I’m usually up before them in the morning and I’ll take all the cushions off of the sofa and I’ll make a maze for them — I make a temple of doom of pillow forts,” he continued. “They’ll encounter the tickle monster somewhere in there and he can only be stopped with a kiss — they love that!” How adorable is THAT?
And even better, Ian is a super supportive father, even partnering with GoodNites to make parents — and kids — feel more comfortable about discussing bedwetting. After all, Ian went through bedwetting as a kid and also with his two daughters. What a great way to pay it forward and help not only his own kids but kids all OVER feel confident and secure!
Tell us, HollywoodLifers — what do you think of Ian’s beautiful sacrifices for his family?
