The majority of Americans now support late-term abortions, ONLY if the fetus has contracted the Zika virus, according to a new report. HollywoodLife.com has all the details on this shocking change of heart.
Fifty-nine percent of US citizens are now in favor of aborting Zika-infected babies at any stage, according to a poll conducted by the Harvard School of Public Health and STAT. It’s a taboo subject, but the swing of opinion comes in the wake of the virus spreading in Miami, Florida. More than 10 new cases have been found since Aug. 1! Once infected, pregnant woman can experience horrific birth defects, including infections and microcephaly – a condition where the baby’s head is abnormally small. Before this epidemic, two thirds of US citizens were in TOTAL opposition of terminating a pregnancy after 24 weeks, according to DailyMail. Unbelievable!
Pregnant Savannah Guthrie, the Today show anchor, 44, revealed she wasn’t going to be attending the 2016 Rio Olympics on June 7, since she didn’t want to put her unborn child in danger. Brazil, the location of this year’s big games, has been reported to have the most cases. The whole ordeal is certainly frightening and we can understand why parents would be fearful about their kids’ well-being.
Marco Rubio said he is still against late-term abortions for these cases on Aug. 6, “I understand a lot of people disagree with my view — but I believe that all human life is worthy of protection of our laws. And when you present it in the context of Zika or any prenatal condition, it’s a difficult question and a hard one,” he told POLITICO. It seems the public disagrees with Marco on this one. Since the virus continues to spread, people have been instructed to use insect repellents and avoid infested areas. Stay safe!
