Howie Mandel is using his words as weapons — and he’s targeting Calvin Harris’ relationship with ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift. The comedian had a few personal jokes lined up for the DJ the night of Caesars Palace’s 50th anniversary gala that sent the crowd into a frenzy. Watch Calvin’s awkward reaction below!
Aug. 6 was quite the night for Calvin Harris, 32. The Scottish DJ won the Future Icon award at the Caesars Palace’s 50th anniversary gala, hosted by comedian and America’s Got Talent judge, Howie Mandel, 60 — who had a few unexpected jokes up his sleeve. As Calvin took center stage to accept his award, Howie seized the opportunity to make a personal jab at the “Ole” hitmaker’s relationship with now ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, 26. Watch Calvin’s bumbling reaction below.
Did you hear that pun? Howie made a quip about Calvin’s well tailored/Taylor-ed suit. For a moment, the Armani underwear model is left speechless, uttering the words, “Wow… Uh…” But he makes a quick recovery, saying, “You got that prepared, you had that one ready.” Overall, Calvin doesn’t seem too bothered by Howie’s joke, and it probably has a lot to do with his new fling with singer Tinashe. The two have been seen getting closer and closer over recent weeks, but Calvin off the market just yet. “I mean, I’m still definitely single, so that’s all that we’re at right now,” Tinashe told E!.
Taylor isn’t finding herself too lonely these days either. Since splitting with Calvin in June, she’s been spending nearly every waking second with new boyfriend and Kong: Skull Island actor Tom Hiddleston. But is Calvin jealous that she’s moving on so quickly and seriously? Not in the slightest. After Taylor claimed she wrote the lyrics to “This Is What You Came For,” Calvin blasted his ex in a Twitter rant, “Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though,” he wrote. In every break up there’s a lot of he-said/she-said bickering, but at least Calvin can share a laugh about it!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Howie was out of line making such a personal joke? Don’t you think Calvin handled it like a gentleman?
